Fighting Hunger in America
- The Food Action Research Center (FRAC) is the leading national nonprofit organization working to improve public policies and public-private partnerships to eradicate hunger and undernutrition in the United States. FRAC works with hundreds of national, state and local nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and corporations to address hunger and its root cause, poverty.
Race, Ethnicity and Economic Well-Being
- Finegold and Wherry drew data from the National Survey of America’s Families (NSAF) to examine changes in the economic well-being of nonelderly persons by race and ethnicity. The study has shown that Blacks and Hispanics are more likely than Whites to be poor or to have low incomes, as well as more likely to have difficulty feeding and housing their families.
Prisoner Reentry
- Lynch and Sabol presents study about changes in characteristics of persons releared from prison and of persons on parole. They found that the size of the returning prisoner and parole populations has increased, but that funding for supervision has not kept pace. It shows that there have been marginal changes in the composition of the populations of reentering inmates that can make reentry more difficult than it has been.
